Java vs Javascript how do they differ

I’m currently looking for a brief explanation on Java and Javascript, are they of the same codes or language? thanks!

Java and Javascript are quite different from each other.

Java is an Object Oriented Programming (OOP) language while JavaScript is an Object Oriented scripting language which was formerly known as LiveScript.

Javascript allows you to create dynamic HTML pages, takes in input data and executes processes and maintain data within the browser. It typically comes with an easier shorter code compared to Java

Java as a language for programming has a core set of libraries, and and can generate a user-interface that should be able to be ran on many platforms, with all its code encapsulated.
